Chris M.L. Bates
Chris M.L. Bates, the most recent addition to the Eris Group team, is a Virginia native who earned his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree at Belmont University. His responsibilities include attending Capitol Hill hearings and providing summaries for clients, as well as, examining and tracking current and proposed federal legislation, regulations, and policies for clients. In addition, he meets with policy-making authorities, in order to represent clients on public policy issues. Mr. Bates also assists in the planning and organizing of political fundraising events.
Previously, Mr. Bates was the Administrator of Government Relations for the U.S. Travel Association, the nation’s leading voice for promoting travel to and within the United States. Prior to joining the U.S. Travel Association, Mr. Bates served as an Intern for Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA-29). From early on, Mr. Bates was familiar with the Capitol Hill environment, beginning as a Page for Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and later as an Intern for Senator Barack Obama (D-IL).
